Bayview was very privileged to have a visit from Jim Connelly, the founding Principal of Christian Community College/Bayview. Jim donated 5 books he has written to our library.
Awww. I have many great memories of Mr Connelly, if I had a problem I always knew he was there to help me. Many times throughout my early years mum would have errands for me to run at lunch time for her, we lived an hour away. Eg dropping papers at the accountant. Mum gave me the paperwork but often forgot the note for permission. Mr Connelly in the beginning would ring mum and Check as time went on he’d just give me approval. That’s just one example. Thank you so much Mr Connelly for been such a great Person.

A busy weekend for some of our students and staff. Great effort everyone on these cold wet days.
As part of the dyslexia awareness program in the shire, Caroline Shepherd read the book “The Great Paper Caper”, during story time at the Portland Library on Friday. The book is from the United Way Imagination Library coordinated by Nicole Carr. At the back of the book there is a template to make a red paper plane.
Some Year 8 & 9 students helped the little ones (aged 0 to 5) to make the paper planes.
Student Abby McFarlane helping Portland Coastal Cliffs Inc. (PCCI) out with "Purging the Spurge" at Nun's Beach. This is a noxious weed that takes over native plants and has a poisonous sap that can in some cases cause skin irritation which is why gloves should be worn when pulling this weed out.

Welcomed back the year 7 class from 1979. Great stories were shared as they wandered through the school.
